Responsibilities
Typical Accountabilities:
• Coordinate the implementation of analytical and data visualization solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in scientific and business application areas within defined project scope. Solutions may employ the use of dedicated business intelligence applications and/or cloud services but may also leverage the reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors and analytical software such as R, Python, Matlab, and others. These solutions may also require exploratory and predictive analytic statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc review and analysis of data.
• Coordinate the translation of business problems into the appropriate analytics problem and solutions in the project scope
• Build and manage effective relationships with a range of stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of information resources and services. Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations
• Provide expertise in exploratory, descriptive and predictive data analytics to cross-functional projects and shape delivery of solutions that drive business value
• Develop visualizations and tools to support and deliver innovative and complex analytical solutions
• Develop and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology and new developments in analytics to shape solutions
• Review and develop working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards within defined scope
• Provide training and advice to collaborators on optimal use of key data and analysis
• Develop, implement and maintain required tools in a manner which meets regulatory and evidential requirements, within the project scope
• Leads small (2-3 person) projects of defined scope

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent years of experience; Demonstrated knowledge of data analytic and visualization tools such as R, Python, SpotFire or Tableau.; Familiarity with database systems (eg SQL, NoSQL, graph); Advanced ability to draw conclusions from data and present in a succinct fashion to stakeholders; Demonstrated experience in the complex analysis of data in applied business and/or scientific application domains; Software development skills; Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills; Good understanding of at least one business area where the data science is applied
• Desirable: Masters Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.; Comfortable working in high performance computing or cloud environment; Experience in life sciences and healthcare
