Tax Manager – Indonesia Local Tax and Audit Defense (Contract-Based)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to oversee the local tax requirements and manage tax audit defense processes in Indonesia. The ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge of Indonesian tax laws and regulations, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in managing tax compliance and audits effectively. The selected candidate will be hired under contract basis for 6 months period (extendable).
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance Management:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all local tax returns and reports in accordance with Indonesian tax regulations.
- Monitor changes in local tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
- Advise management on tax-related issues and provide strategic tax planning to optimize tax liabilities.
- Audit Defense:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all tax audits initiated by local tax authorities.
- Review documentation and defense strategies for tax audits to effectively resolve disputes.
- Liaise with external advisors and legal teams to ensure adequate representation during audits.
- Tax Risk Management:
- Identify areas of tax risk and develop mitigating strategies to minimize exposure.
- Conduct periodic tax risk assessments and implement best practices for risk management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to support business initiatives from a tax perspective.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant departments on tax compliance and audit processes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency through automation and digital solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and trends to ensure the company’s tax strategies remain competitive and compliant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA/CA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax management, with specific experience in Indonesian tax compliance and audit defense.
- Knowledge of Indonesian tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in handling tax audits and negotiations with tax authorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
