Job Description / Capsule

Reporting to the General Director, AstraZeneca Vietnam, this is a leadership role responsible for Vietnam Oncology Business Unit.

Articulate a compelling vision and translate global objectives into clear short-term & long-term goals for the business. Communicates & inspires employees with this vision. Displays an entrepreneurial mindset and identifies opportunities, puts patients first and focuses on enhanced access. Understand and develop emerging trends, patterns and challenges and proactively prepare and provide solutions.      

The role will lead the business, the strategy, business planning, marketing and sales of this Business Unit. Working closely with the Country President, the Business Unit Director will be accountable for formulating all strategic goals in relation to the RIGI portfolio and to ensure success and provide a strong platform for continued growth of the therapeutic area. Emphasis will be placed on growth of business, P&L, quality of sales and marketing, patient centric innovation & access solutions in Vietnam.

As a member of the Country Leadership Team, this role will participate and be responsible for taking strategic decisions on overall matters pertaining to the Marketing Company of AstraZeneca Vietnam.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and articulate a clear vision for the Business Unit. Build both short-term and long-term business plans and strategies to deliver the same.
  • Build business and marketing strategy based on strong science and market insight to achieve successful growth and develop a long-term plan to ensure growth and market share.
  • Leading the planning, organization and implementation of brand strategies in TA areas related to this role
  • Provides strong leadership to the Business Unit to ensure the achievement of Business Unit Level P&L goals.
  • Develops and successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Drives the strategic planning process, including a structured methodology for coordinating and managing the execution and evaluation of marketing plans to ensure that they are in accordance with strategy and direction.
  • Ensures effective cross-functional collaboration to manage the inventory in accordance with agreed plans and policy.
  • Drive sales force deployment in line with strategy and commercial measures and ensure achievement of business goals.
  • Lead and develop the Business Unit team through performance development, talent development and career development. Provide leadership to ensure consistent application, individual accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Build functional and managerial capabilities of the team. Anticipate future talent needs and build a strong leadership succession.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally as a Country Leadership Team member and drive cross-functional projects of strategic importance.
  • Drive business with strong ethical conduct and adherence to Compliance to protect the reputation of the Organization.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Graduate Degree in Pharma, Science or Medicine
  • Minimum 12+ years Sales and Marketing Leadership experience
  • Vietnamese proficiency required

Desirable

  • MBA is Preferable
  • Biopharmaceutical (Oncology) is preferable

  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen and ability to gather and act on business and customer insights to shape brand strategy
  •  Build strong partnership with access and medical teams to design and deliver winning brand strategy and broad value based solutions
  • Demonstrate deep understanding and expertise in one or more of the brands and related TA in the AZ portfolio
  • Build and motivate a high performing team within sales and marketing including handling difficult and challenging people situations
  • Proven experience of successfully initiating business cases with subsequent implementation and leading impacted people through change
  • Demonstrate experience of a successful track record in pharma/biotech sales roles including sales management
  • Have experience of leading brand strategy within a global company with evidence of strong alignment and collaboration to deliver overall company results
  • Leadership experience with a proven track record of attracting, assessing and developing talent and optimising team performance
  • Ability to develop Strategic Partnerships
