Radiochemistry Intern – Summer 2026
Location: Hamilton, Ontario
Onsite 5 days a week
Role Summary
The Intern, Radiochemistry will gain valuable lab experience working on radiolabeling productions for a range of targeting moieties (small molecules to mAbs) and radioisotopes in support of the Radioconjugate Discovery team. This role is an on site, lab position in Fusion’s Hamilton, Ontario facility.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
In lab position contributing to the preparation, purification and characterization of radioconjugates including stability assessments
Collection and analysis and interpreting data
Gain experience effectively communicating scientific data, which may come in the form of writing reports, papers and/or presentations
Gain experience working within the radiochemistry function as a member of a multi-disciplinary collaborative discovery team
Maintain clear and current records of work
Qualifications:
Driven University student currently enrolled in a chemistry, radiochemistry or a related field program (BSc or MSc)
Strong communication skills and attention to detail, including proficiency in the English language
Excellent troubleshooting skills in the lab, organizational skills and an understanding of the radiopharmaceutical field is an asset
Demonstrable independent research accomplishments is an advantage
Knowledge of good laboratory practices is an asset
Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize tasks and manage timelines
Experience in the safe handling of radioisotopes and prior radiation safety training is an asset
Experience with bioconjugations and medicinal synthetic chemistry is an asset
Availability to work full-time for duration of the internship

What to Expect:
This role is a 4-month paid contract position, which starts in May 2026. Our position will be based in our Hamilton, Ontario laboratories.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 42,908.00 to 56,316.75.AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs. In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.
In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).
