As an IT Senior Technical Support specialist, you’ll deliver outstanding daily IT services to users onsite, nationally, or regionally, collaborating with global service teams. You’ll ensure smooth delivery of IT support—especially through AskIT—by providing proactive customer engagement, clear communication, and rapid resolution of technical issues.
You’ll work within established guidelines, independently manage technical challenges, and act as a key point of contact for assigned user groups. Your expertise will help drive efficient problem-solving, high service standards, and continuous improvement. Please note that this position is 100% onsite 5 days a week and will be based in Hamilton, however you would be required to visit the Mississauga and Toronto sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Provides hands-on IT support for hardware, software, and network issues
Troubleshoots and quickly resolves technical issues for end users
Mentors junior staff and acts as a specialist reference
Conducts analysis, prepares reports, and ensures data quality standards
Adheres to AstraZeneca IT policies, processes, and SOPs
Identifies and proposes innovative solutions to improve IT service performance
Uses remote tools for troubleshooting and file transfers
Supports AskIT (genius bar) and provides just-in-time technical support
Partners with external resources to improve processes and automation
Drives projects and tasks to completion, supporting and coaching team members
Meets SLA/OLA requirements and reviews customer satisfaction surveys
Communicates effectively with highly technical and non-technical audiences
Supports desktop and laptop imaging and conference room technology
Provides “hands and eyes” support for network, server, and meeting room technology
Maintains relationships with other teams, functions, and third parties
Tailors IT support to local business priorities and needs
Reviews and recommends improvements for policies and processes
Requirements
At least 3 years’ experience in Windows desktop support
Strong knowledge of Lenovo hardware and Microsoft operating systems/applications
Skilled in installing, configuring, and supporting software applications and upgrades
Proven track record with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom, and cloud storage solutions
Experience in managing and resolving technical issues with timely follow-up
Knowledge of enterprise antivirus software and asset management
Technical or business degree; strong business acumen
Familiarity with IT technical or functional support environments
Preferred
Master’s degree
Experience working with third-party suppliers
Knowledge of Apple Mac OS and iOS software
Experience setting up and deploying mobile device
