As a Senior IT Business Partner for the EUCAN region (Europe & Canada) at AstraZeneca, you will be at the forefront of leveraging technology to reshape business efficiency and healthcare engagement. The position is located in Hamburg. Your role will lead AI and innovative technologies to drive internal efficiencies and engage with the external healthcare ecosystem, creating unparalleled value.  The role must align to strategic business imperatives and support region and market teams with effectively harnessing platforms and capabilities to achieve effective business impact in the region.  The role will lead identification of business problems, lead the development of business cases, lead projects, ensure delivery excellence and exploit investments to create maximum value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: IT liaison with EUCAN region and market teams, cultivating strong, strategic relationships.  Align IT initiatives with business strategies to meet current and future needs, driving impactful digital transformation.

  • AI and Innovation Leadership: Lead initiatives to integrate AI and emerging technologies within business processes, enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making. Encourage a culture of creativity and continual improvement to explore new possibilities.

  • Digital Transformation: Spearhead IT capabilities that transform digital engagement, ensuring strategic delivery of IT, digital, and data projects across the EUCAN region. Leverage AI to foster innovative solutions that enhance internal processes and external healthcare collaborations.

  • External Ecosystem Engagement: Drive initiatives that open new channels of engagement within the healthcare ecosystem, using innovative digital solutions and AI technologies to build partnerships and improve patient outcomes.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with global and regional IT and business functions.  Streamline project deployments to optimise resources and avoid duplications or delays.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive digital and IT roadmaps, conduct feasibility studies, create business cases, and perform demand planning for AI and innovation-oriented projects. Monitor performance metrics to gauge impact and areas for improvement.

  • Change Management: Lead effective change management practices across regions, enhancing governance, communication and awareness to ensure smooth transitions and strategic alignment with a focus on AI and digital innovation.

  • Leadership & Influence: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, influencing business strategy and direction with a focus on AI-driven solutions. Lead and inspire diverse virtual teams to achieve exceptional results.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership and facilitate strategic alignment through technological insights.

  • Demonstrated success in leading AI and innovation-driven IT solutions, enhancing business efficiency and ecosystem engagement.

  • Experience in crafting and mobilising high-value business cases and investments focused on AI and digital health.

  • Strong expertise in Digital Marketing, Digital Health, Data/AI, and Commercial excellence.

  • Exceptional influencing, networking, and collaboration skills.

  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of delivering results through diverse teams.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
