Medical Advisor Oncology

Location: Belgium, 50% field/50% office

Introduction to role

AstraZeneca is pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life-saving medicines that will improve patients’ lives. In that endeavour, Medical Affairs is a key partner in crafting the efficient performance of the AstraZeneca brands.

The function is about 50% based in the field depending on the life cycle of the product.

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintain scientific partnerships with Key External Experts (KEE) and healthcare professionals.
  • Provide high-quality, up-to-date scientific and medical information to customers.
  • Take the medical lead in the therapeutic area (TA).
  • Provide key medical input to marketing-sales-market access interface.
  • Deliver strategic and educational medical affairs projects.

Crucial Skills/Experience

  • Medical or Pharmacist Degree or scientific degree

  • Experience in Oncology
  • Strong scientific knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in English and French/Dutch
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven track record of building relationships with healthcare professionals

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in Medical Affairs
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in delivering educational projects
