Medical Advisor Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism

Location: Belgium/Luxembourg, 50% field/50% office

Introduction to role

AstraZeneca is pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life-saving medicines that will improve patients’ lives. In that endeavour, Medical Affairs is a key partner in crafting the efficient performance of the AstraZeneca brands.

The function is about 50% based in the field depending on the life cycle of the products.

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintain scientific partnerships with Key External Experts (KEE) and healthcare professionals.

  • Provide high-quality, up-to-date scientific and medical information to customers.

  • Take the medical lead in the therapeutic area (TA) to define (pre-)launch medical strategy

  • Provide key medical input to marketing-sales-market access interface.

  • Deliver strategic and educational medical affairs projects.

Crucial Skills/Experience

  • Medical or Pharmacist Degree or scientific degree with a PhD

  • Experience in Medical Affairs both internally and externally

  • Strong scientific knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficiency in English, French and Dutch

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proven track record of building relationships with healthcare professionals

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in CVRM space
