Key Account Specialist Rare Disease (ATTR)
location: field based, North Belgium

Introduction to role:

You will lead strategic account management and field engagements supporting our upcoming launches in ATTR-PN (polyneuropathy) and CM (cardiomyopathy). Concentrate on achieving successful eplontersen launch readiness by improving important metrics and forming strategic partnerships. The Key Account Specialist will be interacting primarily with neurology departments and extend focus onto cardiology while we cross between PN (Q1’26) and CM (Q3’28) launches.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop Strategy for Accounts: Build NMRC action plans, establish partnerships, and map the patient journey to identify treatment triggers.
  • Set Objectives: Establish SMART goals and analyze insights for effective regional business planning.
  • Engage Partners: Understand local healthcare environments, engage HCPs on product information, and build long-term collaborative relationships.
  • Share Insights: Communicate partner insights within AZ to improve marketing and product development efforts.
  • Coordinate Cross-Functionally: Act as the primary contact for key accounts, leading cross-functional meetings with Medical Advisors and Sales Managers.
  • Drive Sales Performance: Achieve sales targets while managing budgets; analyze trends to optimize results and promote AZ's brands effectively.
  • Ensure Compliance: Report medical queries, complete training, and adhere to all regulations and internal policies, ensuring alignment with the AZ Code of Conduct.

Crucial for the role:

  • Proven track record in strategic account management and consistently achieving sales targets.
  • Prior therapy area experience (neurology, amyloidosis)
  • Proven track record in influencing the customer decision-making process in an ecosystem with multiple influential player’s / decision makers
  • Master’s degree; preferably in medical or scientific field
  • Proven demonstration of successful working in complex cross functional teams
  • Able to use IT Tools (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English

Desirable for the role:

  • Knowledge of the healthcare environment or health economics, improving strategic account management capabilities.
  • Experience within the field of rare diseases, providing deeper insights into patient needs and market dynamics
  • Experience in therapy area of cardiology
