What You’ll Be Doing

As a Squad Lead, you’ll guide a talented cross-functional team of about 10 developers, testers, designers, and business analysts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of patients in the clinical trial solution Unified Trial. You’ll work on exciting projects such as frontend web and mobile applications, backend-for-frontend layers and content management systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, testers, and business analysts to deliver exceptional results.

  • Supporting the Crew Engineer Lead in the recruitment of new team members and fostering a fun, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.

  • Driving Agile processes, including preparing and leading PI planning and scrum activities.

  • Facilitating collaboration between multiple teams to ensure seamless delivery of features and solutions.

  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the software aligns with product roadmaps and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a leader, with 2+ years of team lead experience.

  • Strong background in software development (5+ years of hands-on experience) and a deep understanding of building frontend solutions and backend services.

  • Great communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and functions.

  • Driven by creating a high-performing team where knowledge sharing and building great solutions is what makes you smile at the end of the day.

  • Long experience working with Agile methods, particularly SAFe and Scrum.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience or interest in coding and system architecture, with a hands-on approach to supporting technical decisions.

  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks for web and mobile applications (e.g., React/React Native).

  • Experience with, or an interest in, taking on line management responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with regulatory knowledge, such as GxP, SaMD validation, or similar.

  • Scrum Master or Agile Coach certification.

Location

The office is based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA. We have an on-site commitment of three days a week.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $123,114.40 - $184,671.60 USD.  Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
