Introduction to role
Are you ready to lead and shape the future of precision medicine in gastrointestinal (GI) and colorectal cancer (CRC) tumours? As the Senior Director, Head of Precision Medicine GI and CRC Tumours, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing global Precision Medicine and Diagnostics Development Strategies. You will oversee the precision medicine or Companion Diagnostics plans, ensuring their successful delivery for portfolio programs and clinical studies within the GI and CRC tumour areas.

Accountabilities
As a key member of the Tumour Council or strategy team, you will represent the Precision Medicine and Biosamples (PMB) function, supporting and shaping the tumour strategy and respective drug portfolio. You will lead Diagnostic Subteams, ensuring the successful delivery of companion diagnostic and precision medicine strategies for the associated group of portfolio assets within the GI and CRC tumour areas. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and shaping the global Precision Medicine and Diagnostics Development Strategy for GI and CRC tumours.
Providing high-quality scientific advice on strategic direction for precision medicine approaches and diagnostic development.
Ensuring the adoption of precision medicine strategies within Oncology R&D and the Oncology Business Unit.
Driving forward, accelerating, and innovating Precision Medicine approaches in the GI and CRC tumour areas.
Leading strategic investments to enable oncology companion diagnostic development.
Shaping the external environment to address barriers and facilitate diagnostic development relevant to the therapeutic area.
Overseeing global cross-functional teams across PMB and other global functions.
Contributing to transformative development and strategic investment that impacts Oncology R&D’s registrational drug portfolio.
Ensuring world-class practice in Precision Medicine approaches and Companion Diagnostic developments.
Providing input to the global PMB strategy and leading technical advice in specific areas of expertise.
Collaborating with drug co-development external diagnostic partners to align strategies.
Essential Skills/Experience
PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
Proven delivery of Precision Medicine strategies and Companion Diagnostic tests through regulatory submission and launch, within a diagnostic or pharmaceutical setting
Substantial scientific and business experience of Precision Medicine and diagnostic development approaches within the relevant therapeutic area or tumour area
Proven strategic capability innovation and putting strategy in action
Broad understanding of CDx regulations in US, EU, Japan, and China and proven global regulatory interactions
Substantial (7+ years) experience in drug development, diagnostic development, and regulatory interactions
Evidence of excellent skills in communication, stakeholder management, influencing, and program management
Desirable Skills/Experience
Significant previous experience in a similar role in different companies
Delivery of multiple examples of companion diagnostics, regulatory interactions (particularly with FDA), and commercialization
High-quality scientific expertise in the precision medicine field relevant to the therapeutic area as evidenced by publications and external reputation
Evidence of shaping the companion diagnostic field e.g., diagnostic partnering, regulation of drugs and linked diagnostics, payer and policy considerations, ethical and legal aspects
Led Precision Medicine strategic initiatives in similar roles

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from 182,645.60 - 273,968.40 USD Annual. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
