We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Scientist in cancer pharmacology to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD USA. As a Scientist, you will be a key member of a team focused on delivering all aspects of in vivo pharmacology support. With a solid understanding of bioscience and in vivo pharmacology procedures, you will design and conduct laboratory projects, develop methods, and interpret scientific data. Your competence in troubleshooting and theory will be invaluable as you contribute to groundbreaking research.
Accountabilities:
Working within the Early Oncology In Vivo Pharmacology Team, you will design, run, and analyze in vivo experiments to assess the function of our candidate oncology drugs and dissect the mechanism of action of novel cancer therapeutics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including representatives from biosciences, translational medicine, clinical, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and safety to help understand the translatability of in vivo research to the clinic. You will work collaboratively with project leaders to ensure the timely generation and dissemination of critical program data and contribute to scientific publication goals. As a highly organized, self-motivated individual with a strong background in laboratory science, you will stay up to date with relevant technical and intellectual scientific expertise in tumor biology, pharmacology, and cancer modeling.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- B.S. in Biology, Pharmacology or other related scientific discipline with 3-6 yrs. relevant scientific and hands-on experience; M.S. – 2-5 yrs. MS desired but not required.
- Significant hands-on experience developing and working with complex in vivo models, such as xenograft, patient-derived xenograft (PDX), syngeneic and orthotopic mouse models.
- Experience executing in vivo pharmacology studies in mouse tumor models, including dose-finding tolerability studies, PK/PD and efficacy studies.
- Extensive experience and proficiency in various routes of dosing administration, such as subcutaneous (SC), intravenous (IV), intraperitoneal (IP), and oral gavage (PO).
- Ability to work independently, critically analyze and report data, and interpret experimental findings within the broader landscape of drug discovery.
- In-depth knowledge of ADCs and oncology disease area biology (hematological cancer preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills together with evidence of delivery in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Highly developed problem-solving and risk management skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience in preparing pharmacology project packages for high-level meetings and IND filings. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry drug discovery process.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $87,200.00 - 130,800.00. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
