Project Manager, Cell Therapy Logistics

This role is part of the Cell Therapy Supply Chain team tasked with supporting critical development of supply chain logistics capability and process.

We are looking for a Project Manager, Cell Therapy Supply Chain Logistics to join our team. You may be based in Gaithersburg, MD or Santa Monica, CA. You will oversee global logistics projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with our established project management methodology. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Logistics, you will drive and ensure project delivery within governance-endorsed timelines, scope, and cost. The role may also manage strategic programs, including strategy and process development, and system implementation but not limited to it. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Cell Therapy Supply Chain team leaders, manufacturing sites, patient operation teams, and external partners address project development and implementation challenges and guide successful outcomes 

  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive project updates, ensuring across project teams, senior leadership, and critical team members 

  • Responsible for project scope and goals involving all relevant team members and ensuring technical feasibility for technology rollout and integrations projects. 

  • Establish processes to ensure compliance with internal standards, tracking mechanisms, vendor service level agreements, including maintaining all technical and contractual documentation. 

  • Manage the project delivery within timelines, scope and budget. 

  • Ensure all product activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and AstraZeneca's internal policies. 

  • Create detailed project or business plans to ensure clarity of deliverables and timing including identifying drivers for each action item. 

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, cooperation, inclusion, and execution excellence to become a high-performing team. 

Education:

  • Five (5) years' experience with BS/BA, or three (3) years with MS/MA, in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, in Supply Chain logistics, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Project management certification (PMO) is desired. 

Experience & Skills: 

  • Three (3) years of pharmaceutical supply chain or logistics project management experience. 

  • Experience with all phases of project management, with expertise across a variety of technology project areas in supply chain, manufacturing, quality operations, and clinical systems.

  • Experience managing healthcare-related projects and patient-centric programs within pharma, biotech or cell therapy is required.

  • Prior experience with any of the following applications: Cold Chain Logistics, Clinical and commercial logistics, Cell & Gene Therapies.

  • Communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences at all organizational levels.

  • Experience working with teams and managing complex programs in a regulated and enterprise level.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $85,012 to $127,518. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
