Job Description
Advocacy Program: Develop and execute the global advocacy strategy, managing relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) through the Global COPD Clinical Expert Council and respiratory disease forums. Build advocacy for the IL-33 pathway science across Pulmonology and Immunology communities.
Market Development Program: Lead the non-branded market development initiative to transform COPD care delivery. Partner with respiratory authorities, patient advocacy groups, and policy makers to accelerate patient identification, optimize clinical pathways, and expand healthcare system capacity across major global markets.
You will collaborate closely with global cross-functional teams and local marketing, digital, medical, and policy leads in T8 markets to ensure seamless strategy execution.
Overall Responsibilities of Position
Advocacy
- Developing and implementing the KEE advocacy plan vision, strategy, tactics and operations plan to amplify the brand narrative within the broader healthcare community
- Partner, in conjunction with the rest of the Global brand team, with the Global COPD Clinical Expert Council and respiratory inflammation disease councils to inform program strategy, develop content and deliver speaker training & speaker events
- Partnering closely with local marketing company brand advocacy leads to inform the KEE program and support seamless integration into local brand advocacy plans
- Creating and implementing personalized advocacy plans for identified Global Advocates for the Global Brand team members
Market Development
- Driving the global organization toward a full comprehension of the market development short- and long-term vision for our new asset in COPD
- Developing the key strategy/tactics/assets in collaboration with identified markets to define the global market development program
- In partnership with the Market Development Medical Director and policy teams; develop global healthcare change strategy and drive implementation of core deliverables e.g., early identification/screening programs for COPD exacerbations, optimizing clinical pathways and evidence generation
- Identifying potential vendors for the services included into the platform for the main countries/regions to deliver patient identification
- Build, develop and co-ordinate global/local teams, bringing together relevant operational/leadership teams to ensure global delivery of the program
- Define and coordinate the delivery of the brand value proposition and service platform offering to secure a smooth implementation of the program in key markets securing better patient outcomes
Education
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with science expertise as preferred
Desirable:
- Secondary degree, e.g., MBA, PhD with science expertise
Experience
Required:
- 10+ years experience in healthcare or biopharma industry, with a strong preference for experience in the Respiratory and/or Immunology area
- Confirmed experience of engaging with and demonstrating insights from external customers e.g. KEEs, prescribers, payors
- Proven success in a global or local role
- Confirmed strong influencing skills and collaborator management, including at an Executive Level
- Experienced and comfortable working in a matrix environment and capable to adapt to work with different countries and different cultures
- Experience to create a positive relationship with third parties as an AZ Ambassador at Board and Executive Committee level
- Launch experience and success including experience with building local advocacy and developing market as well as brand share

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $270,222 to $405,332. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
