What you’ll do
As the Group Insights Director you will play a key role in Group reporting and planning processes, driving central understanding and insight on our Oncology business to inform decision making and target setting on this critical area of the business. This role offers the chance to add real business value through enhanced commercial insight, and the opportunity to build strong and wide-ranging networks within Group and Commercial Finance functions.

Responsibilities:
The role reports to the Head of Group Insights Finance Director within the broader Group Planning and Business Performance team, and will primarily be responsible for:
Providing Insight, expertise and analysis to help drive and shape the commercial performance of AstraZeneca
Being the expert for Oncology within the Group Finance team, acting as the link between the commercial unit and the Group function
Ensuring that key planning assumptions and drivers of performance are understood, bringing constructive challenge to forecasts, planning assumptions and resource allocation based on credible insights, intelligence & analysis
Preparing stretched but attainable targets that align to the Enterprise’s strategic and financial objectives
Developing an understanding of the 10 year Oncology LTP, including a view on pipeline assets and potential
Proactively identifying, collating and analysing a range of financial and non-financial data to develop a deep understanding of the drivers of performance and key emerging trends impacting our Oncology business
Developing strong relationships with the embedded functional FP&A contacts in order to refine your understanding whilst bringing constructive challenge to forecasts, assumptions and resource allocation based on credible insights, intelligence & analysis
Managing a range of other ad-hoc requests in support of the CEO and SET/Board reporting
Identifying and supporting continuous improvement opportunities in Group Planning and Business Performance processes, performance and reporting
Essential for the role:
Experience in understanding an Oncology Portfolio in a Pharmaceutical setting
Experienced and analytical Finance professional with the ability to deliver succinct, high impact briefing material suitable for SET / Board level audiences
Finance/Business qualification e.g. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/MBA
Curious, proactive and delivery focused, comfortable working in a dynamic, challenging environment
Demonstrated learning agility
Energetic, resilient and tenacious
Excellent influencing and communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and ability to drive bigger picture thinking
Good networking and relationship building skills
Desirable for the role:
Experience of Commercial Finance and/or Group FP&A
Strong systems skills; advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, knowledge of Hyperion Planning would also be advantageous
The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $178,860.80 - $268,291.20. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity and eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
