What you'll do
As the finance lead on Early Global Product Teams, you’ll enable smart, data-driven decision-making. Major responsibilities will be to:
Ensure that all investment decisions have an internally consistent, robust financial case supporting them and that they are in line with strategy.
Provide input to all governance body papers (e.g. Early Stage Portfolio Committee), leading the preparation of the financial sections
Ensure senior Finance leaders are appropriately briefed ahead of key decision points
Deliver Post Deal Management Finance support for any external agreements. This includes understanding and managing AZ financial rights and obligations.
Provide proactive financial analysis and scenario modelling to support teams in assessing the cost and value impact of critical project decisions, including but not exclusively clinical trial design.
Work with the Therapeutic Area Finance Directors to monitor the value of R&D spend and assess the impact of any key changes to project & portfolio development assumptions and key deviations from plan.
Support the monthly close analysis and forward plans with up to date asset forecasts/valuations.
Undertake ad hoc project work to assist in the improvement of the R&D Finance team’s and wider businesses working practices.
Required for the role
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business
Finance professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Achieved or currently pursuing accounting certification (CPA or equivalent alternative)
Strategic and collaborative with the ability to influence all levels including senior stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, financial modelling, and decision analysis
Background in project/product evaluation and core finance roles
Ability to juggle multiple priorities
Global experience with multi-disciplinary teams
High ethical standards and personal integrity
Strong communicator and presenter
Thrives on solving complex tasks
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experience in global pharma or familiarity with drug development and commercial strategy
Accounting certification

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $115,969.60 - 173,954.40USDas an annual base salary. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
