As Global Marketing Director, Breast Cancer you will play a pivotal role in channelling our

scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing the lives of people with breast cancer.

Role Description:

The Global Marketing Director, Breast Cancer will play a key leadership role in shaping AstraZeneca’s commercial breast cancer strategy. AstraZeneca has an industry leading portfolio of in-market and pipeline products focused on transforming care and improving patient outcomes in breast cancer, and in partnership with these teams, you will be integral to our collective efforts towards transforming care for breast cancer patients globally.

The role will report into the Global Franchise Head, Enhertu and Breast Cancer Strategy and will lead the development of a tumor-level strategy and execution plan that can be implemented across markets. The role will also help shape above-asset tumor strategic initiatives in support of our global breast cancer commercialization priorities. The role will focus primarily on initiatives targeted at Health Care Providers and patients.

This position is based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus headquarters for our Global Oncology Business Unit.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Co-lead the development and execution of a breast cancer tumor strategy plan, encompassing an AstraZeneca breast cancer portfolio strategy as well as a tumor leadership plan focused on above-asset leadership opportunities
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives associated with the breast cancer strategic plan
  • Support development and execution of tumor level messaging and resources in alignment with the breast cancer scientific narrative and in collaboration with global brand/indication teams
  • Partner closely with brand and indication teams to ensure alignment of above-asset initiatives with brand led initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with and provide direction to cross-functional partners (e.g. Insights, Access, Medical, Sales, Training, Corporate Affairs) for the development and implementation of both strategic and operational plans
  • Accountable for engaging with Regional/Country teams to ensure alignment and share learnings across markets
  • Develop and deliver key brand presentations to leadership
  • Manage agency relationships, workflow, and commercial budget

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry brand marketing, sales, market research/analytics, strategic planning
  • Prior oncology in-line HCP marketing experience within a major market
  • Experience building and integrating new capabilities that are relevant for launch success

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA in relevant field
  • Deep oncology experience, breast cancer experience preferred
  • In-depth Marketing experience (developing brand strategy, performing positioning,
  • messaging, segmentation, targeting, managing ad agency, providing direction on annual budget planning)
  • Experience across multiple promotional channels (Personal, Non-Personal and Digital, Patient marketing)
  • Prior global marketing experience
  • Sales/Customer-facing experience
  • Launch experience
  • Management experience

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex constructs
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work in matrixed environment and to work with Global team

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $220,870 to $331,306. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
