Introduction to role

The Finance Business Partner is a key role, providing robust and insightful decision support to Business and Finance Management within AstraZeneca, enabling the delivery of our financial objectives both operational and strategic. This role pro-actively works with Management to identify business risks and opportunities, find pragmatic approaches to challenges, and aid in the implementation of solutions and best practices across local organizations. In support of Finance Management, the role ensures financial transparency and disclosure of risks. This position requires a good working knowledge of finance processes and procedures applicable to the whole Commercial business.

Accountabilities

  • Financial periodic, annual, and strategic plans related to US OBU Franchises, Brand, Tumor, and indications
  • Drive P&L management with a focus on accurate Sales Forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation
  • Business Performance tracking including Key KPI’s and core financial reports such as P&L, Inventory DOH, G2N
  • Drive monthly Business Reviews, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely submission from US OBU to Global OBU
  • Run the Planning and Forecasting processes in coordination with key collaborators to deliver consistent, ambitious, and reliable plans
  • Challenge and investigate financial results with the objective of identifying performance gaps, checking progress towards budget achievement, and recommending gap closing actions
  • Engage with internal and external Business Stakeholders to gain insight into key business drivers and tactics, find opportunities, and support solid argument preparation
  • Partner in pricing and business development activities, test business assumptions for evaluating opportunities, challenge financial evaluations to ensure the most profitable outcome
  • Pro-actively review and assess Business Performance Reporting landscape, leading changes and enhancement recommendations in collaboration with US OBU CFO / Business Planning
  • Be the link between Franchise Commercial and Finance. Ensure the tools and the local team meet the needs of the business

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance / Business / Economics
  • 5+ years experience in financial management
  • Outstanding analytical skills and strong execution track record
  • Advanced financial modeling skills
  • Developed / advanced business sense
  • Demonstrated ability of sufficient discernment to be able to support, while robustly challenging, commercial leadership at all levels
  • Ability to recognize problems, develop solutions, and implement them
  • Ability to meet deadlines for all project deliverables with speed and accuracy
  • Willingness to take ownership for their work and challenge the status quo
  • High quality and timely delivery of financial insight
  • Ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships, internally and externally, and communicate effectively
  • Strong team player across functions, flexible and can-do attitude
  • Resilient and ability to work under pressure

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • MBA, CMA / CPA desired
  • Experience in Pharma/Biotech / Medtech environment preferred

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $115,969 to $173,954. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
