Director, R&D IT – Cell Therapy Business Analysis

Accountabilities
Partner with the Business Partner and Senior Program Manager to deliver high-quality business cases and process designs, ensuring that proposed IT solutions align with AstraZeneca’s quality and compliance standards and business requirements.
Define the process and requirements management methodology within your function, ensuring adherence to methodology, quality, and compliance standards.
Mentor and develop other Business Analysts, enhancing their skills and sharing best practices within relevant communities of practice.
Develop comprehensive business cases and strategies, including business needs, user analysis, solution options, costs, return on investment, and roadmaps.
Create and execute business analysis plans, leading efforts in business needs assessment, process mapping and design, stakeholder mapping, user and functional requirements, prioritization, and development of testing plans and scenarios.
Perform and/or lead IT documentation efforts, ensuring accountability for quality as defined by the AstraZeneca Business Analysis Framework (ADF).
Work closely with IT Architects to provide high-quality business analysis.
Partner with the Senior Program Manager to deliver high-quality solutions.
Essential Skills/Experience
College/University Degree in Science, Technical, or Business field
8+ years of proven relevant experience as a business analyst or in an equivalent role
Demonstrable experience in successfully deploying a variety of business analysis tools and techniques to enable business change and build the big picture for guiding future thinking
Sufficient experience with biopharmaceutical R&D and/or clinical manufacturing processes
Sufficient experience with scientific data and expertise in managing and utilizing it to maximize value
Experience in mentoring, coaching, or developing others
Experience in working with and managing third-party suppliers/vendors
Experience in managing high levels of risk by making complex judgments, developing innovative solutions, and applying a comprehensive multi-functional and industry understanding
Excellent engagement, communication and collaborator management skills across stakeholders in both Science and IT
Accomplished at virtual collaboration to lead, shape and develop innovative solutions
Broad understanding of IT systems and technology implemented within a business context.
Strong knowledge and experience with internal and external suppliers and solutions
Excellent business acumen with sensitivity to environment
Knowledge of GxP and SaMD standards
Desirable Skills/Experience
PhD in a scientific or technical field, or an MBA
Experience at the associate director or equivalent level in a major biopharmaceutical company, or manager-level experience in a major consulting firm
Experience with JIRA
Strong experience with cell therapy processes and/or data
Hands-on experience as a scientist working in R&D
Formal certification in business analysis practice
Lean SIGMA training
Practical usage of Agile Methodology
Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
User Centered Design (User Experience, User Interface Design and Business Process Design) Cross industry business awareness/business domain knowledge.
The annual base pay for this position ranges from 139,200.00 - 208,800.00 USD Annual (80% - 120%). Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
