Role Summary

The AD, MEGO serves as the US MEGO Lead for an assigned Oncology franchise/portfolio, owning IME (Independent Medical Education) strategy and end‑to‑end grant governance. This role aligns IME with US Medical Affairs and Corporate interests. They will lead TARC (Therapeutic Area Review Committee) activities and make funding decisions based on strategy, scientific merit, and risk.  This will ensure compliant, high‑quality educational grants that improve patient care. Partners across medical teams and interacts with external providers. Responsible for managing budgets.  

Location Strategy:

This is an on-site position which can sit in either Wilmington, DE or THE PREFERRED LOCATION: Gaithersburg, MD. Key Responsibilities

MEGO leadership and strategy involves setting and executing annual and long-range IME priorities while embedding them into cross-functional medical plans and leadership forums. The role leads governance through TARC, ensuring compliance, merit-based funding decisions, and oversees end-to-end grant operations from submission through reconciliation. It holds responsibility for budget forecasting, tracking, and reconciliation, while ensuring compliance with legal, audit, and Open Payments requirements. Success in this role requires monitoring program quality and outcomes, conducting ongoing needs assessments to inform strategy, and delivering insights through reporting and analytics. The position also applies adult learning principles to optimize HCP education, manages lifecycle risks, engages stakeholders on strategy and outcomes, and continuously improves processes, tools, and performance metrics.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in healthcare/pharmaceutical industry/medical education
  • Expertise in medical education and adult learning
  • Deep knowledge of FDA, PhRMA Code, AMA, ACCME, OIG, Open Payments
  • Strong cross functional leadership with independent decision‑making  
  • Strategic planning, project and budget management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation capability
  • Proficiency in business/analytics tools with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Adaptability in complex environments; experience with AI platforms

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced scientific/medical degree
  • 5+ years in Medical Education or Medical Affairs
  • Therapeutic area experience (oncology, cardiology, obesity, respiratory)
  • Experience designing and implementing educational programs

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $168,700-$210,700. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
