Analytical Science Summer Intern
We are seeking sophomore and junior students majoring in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field for two 12-Week Student Intern roles working in Gaithersburg, MD for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.
Position Duties:
This role has two separate headcount for the descriptions listed below.
Develop platform free drug and DAR methods:
Conduct literature search and write up an experimental plan to analyze antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).
Conduct laboratory experiments to determine the optimal chromatography and CE conditions to separate the conjugated and unconjugated products.
Optimize the method to calculate the drug to antibody ratio.
Document their experiments, including a protocol on the developed method.
Give a final presentation of their work to the Analytical Sciences department.
Mis-pair method for muti-specific antibodies:
Conduct literature search and write up an experimental plan to analyze samples with mis-paired species.
Conduct laboratory experiments to determine the optimal chromatography conditions such as column, mobile phase, flow rate, to separate the mis-paired species from the target product.
Perform peak IDs of the developed method.
Document the experiments, including a protocol on the developed method.
Give a final presentation on the work to the Analytical Sciences department.
Position Requirements:
Undergraduate sophomore and junior students majoring in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.
Hands-on lab experience such as pipetting small volumes and/or creating dilutions is a plus.
Knowledge of principles of protein chemistry is a plus
Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography and/or electrophoresis are a plus.
Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
This role will not be providing CPT/OPT support.
Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD for 5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.
Minimum grade point average of 3.0
