What you’ll do

As a Key Account Manager—Respiratory, you will be responsible for delivering sales targets by managing relationships with general practitioners, specialists, nurses, pharmacists, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and therapeutic area groups within your assigned territory. Your role is focused on maximizing access to AstraZeneca’s medicines by engaging with medical professionals and influencing regional formularies and treatment protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • In this position, you are accountable for achieving sales goals by leading and maintaining effective interactions with GPs, nurses, specialists, KOLs, and therapeutic groups. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring access to our medicines, which includes proactively working to influence local formularies and protocols to support the adoption of AstraZeneca products in your region.
  • You will also assist leadership by providing ongoing support and training to the sales organization, focusing on therapeutic area and product knowledge, as well as the development of selling skills. All customer engagement activities must be executed in accordance with both the Business Operating Procedure (BOP) and the company’s Ethical Interaction Policy.
  • You are responsible for the performance of your products within the district, which includes planning and organizing targeted activities and meetings, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the sales support system, and following up on actions with customers. You may also initiate and pursue joint projects and are expected to manage your internal budget and monitor return on investment effectively.
  • Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with AstraZeneca colleagues to maximize the regional “share of voice.” You are accountable for effective communication regarding the benefits and risks of your product portfolio with healthcare decision-makers, utilizing appropriate channels such as face-to-face meetings, web-based calls, online platforms, or telephone conferences.
  • A crucial part of your role is to develop and nurture long-term business relationships with key customers and to interact efficiently using a range of communication tools, including phone, email, webcasts, web meetings, and in-person visits. Ultimately, you are responsible for ensuring that all tasks are performed to the highest quality, adhering to all written procedures, legal requirements, and AstraZeneca’s internal standards.

Your profile

  • We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds, whether they have experience in Respiratory, or other therapy areas. What matters most is having the right profile and the potential to develop and apply the necessary skills to contribute effectively and continue progressing in their career. We will also consider someone from a clinical background looking to move into a commercial role.
  • University degree is required, with a preference (but not limited to) Medical Sciences / Pharmacy / Medical Engineering / Chemistry / Biology etc.;
  • Passion for science and committed to make a positive personal impact;
  • Curiousness and learning agility;
  • Strong ability, or potential to develop it, in engaging and influencing decision making among key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, e.g., mid and senior level specialty care professionals, key accounts in the medical community;
  • Collaborative and inclusive: exercise anticipation and responsiveness to the needs of others; ability to modify own approach to different people;
  • Resourceful and tenacious in approaching problems and leveraging all available resources for developing solutions;
  • Fluent Estonian and advanced English and literacy in common corporate technology
