Senior Manager, Legal Entity Forecasting

Location: Luton

Introduction to role:
Are you ready to make a positive impact in a newly established team? AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Manager to join our dynamic Legal Entity Forecasting (LEF) team. This team plays a crucial role in accurately forecasting P&L and Cash tax, enabling strategic resource allocations across the organization. As part of the LEF team, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of AstraZeneca's financial processes and contribute to the company's tax reporting and forecasting objectives. This high-profile role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and precise completion of the LEF process.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and deliver how AstraZeneca converts actuals and forecasted P&Ls from a management unit basis to a statutory basis.
  • Partner with the R&D finance teams, ensuring that the team is aware of any changes within the business that will impact the LEF process.
  • Maintain the IP flows within the LEF model, collaborating with the R&D finance and Tax teams. These will serve as the basis for R&D flows within the LEF model.
  • Manage the relationship with the local Tax teams, discussing transactions that might impact the LEF models. Also, share applicable LEF results with local and group teams.
  • Lead the aspects of the relationship with the LEF systems and IT teams, such as Group Platforms, GITC, and FET.
  • Act as the main point of contact with IT and Finance Master Data (FMD) teams to update LEF FMD in the context of new FMD in the organization and specifically LEF.
  • Understand the implications of business changes on the P&L and the Tax team in particular.
  • Leverage technology and optimise our local reporting processes. Embed a culture of continuous process improvement, encourage best practices sharing across regions, and ensure that data, systems and processes are appropriate and controlled.
  • Business partner with the wider group and local tax teams, FP&A, accounting, and GFR to ensure LEF results are integrated into business decisions.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability and solid experience in a tax, accounting, planning and analysis, or related corporate finance analysis position.
  • Desire to define a new role on a new team and make it your own.
  • Experience using tax, financial accounting, planning, and/or reporting systems.
  • Ability to develop strong partnership/team building relationships with the business and across functions, and comfortable operating in a matrix environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, maintains a positive attitude, and is a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior management.
