Program Manager (Associate Director) – Precision Diagnostics Development

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Contract: Fixed term, 24 months

Accountabilities

Lead the setup and operationalization of AstraZeneca’s Precision Diagnostics Innovation Hub in Ireland. Define milestones and deliverables, run program governance, manage budget and operations, and coordinate cross‑functional and external partners to deliver on time, cost, and quality.

  • Programme delivery: Set milestones/timelines; lead operational planning; track progress, dependencies, risks, and mitigations; act as central coordinator across global/local engineering, R&D (incl. Alexion), finance, and enabling functions.
  • Governance & reporting: Run SteerCo/leadership reporting; establish KPI tracking and risk reporting; maintain compliant documentation.
  • Operations & finance: Align workstreams to priorities; oversee budget tracking/forecasting with stakeholders; ensure compliance with AZ business cycle.
  • Collaboration: Align global/matrix stakeholders without authority; build effective relationships across AZ R&D and Alexion.
  • External engagement: Coordinate partners/agencies; lead grant documentation; scout innovation and funding opportunities.

Essential experience:

  • 8+ years managing complex programs in life sciences/diagnostics/medtech or regulated environments
  • Senior project management track record; multi‑stakeholder program setup and delivery
  • Strong financial/operational management; multi‑stream budgets
  • Influences and leads across global/matrix orgs; excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Entrepreneurial mentality; problem solving and comfort with ambiguity

Desirable:

  • Degree in science/engineering/business; PMP/PRINCE2
  • Client‑facing PM/consulting experience
  • Knowledge of Ireland’s R&D/innovation ecosystem and funding
