Introduction to role

The role of the Nominated Signatory supports the approval of specified materials and activities linked to promotion, interactions with Health Care Professionals and Organisations, and other related areas such as non-promotional health education materials. As a local marketing company expert on regulation and industry codes of practice, the Nominated Signatory helps the business innovate and succeed within internal and external regulations. This role enhances local competencies through knowledge sharing, continuous improvement initiatives, and ongoing training.

Accountabilities

The Nominated Signatory is responsible for the final approval of specified materials and activities linked to promotion, interactions with Health Care Professionals and Organisations, and non-promotional health education materials. Key responsibilities include maintaining processes for reviewing and approving promotional and relevant non-promotional materials to ensure compliance with codes of conduct/practice, internal standards, and local legislation.

The Nominated Signatory applies governance, drives excellence through quality and standards, and supports compliant and ethical activities. This role involves a team approach for review and approval, representing the final position based on relevant regulations, codes, and SOPs. The Nominated Signatory is the subject matter expert for advertising compliance queries and supports identifying risks and opportunities to enhance compliance while streamlining processes. Cross-functional collaboration is essential, working with teams such as Medical, Franchise/brand managers, Market Access, Patient Engagement manager, and Corporate Affairs. The Nominated Signatory also develops, coordinates, and delivers internal training on relevant topics.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Degree in medicine, pharmacy, pharmacology or other relevant life sciences.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local health care systems, and a working understanding of relevant legislation and external codes of practice governing promotional activities.
  • Demonstrable working experience in medical affairs and/or signatory activities.
  • Thrive on working independently on routine and new assignments.
  • High ethical standards. An understanding of ethical decision-making processes and an ability to discuss ethical and regulatory issues with credibility and authority.
  • Ability to make decisions using evidence, knowledge and experience even when the way is not clear.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, pragmatism and solution-oriented approaches/problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and exercise decisive authority while taking into account diverse views and opinions to enable solutions aligned with company values.
  • Proven ability to anticipate risks, identify gaps and propose solutions to address.
  • Demonstrable experience of a continuous improvement mind-set.
