Since 2013, Astra Zeneca’s facility in Blanchardstown (Alexion), Dublin has served as the Company’s Global Supply Chain and Operations headquarters. The site, which will be home to a large-scale biologics manufacturing facility, is also used to house packaging and testing operations in support of our Global Manufacturing network.

About the Opportunity:

The role is suitable for those about to graduate and broadly includes administrative and project support to the HR teams. Under direction from HR Business Partners, the intern assists with day-to-day HR operations, coordination, onboarding, data and reporting, employee engagement activities, and HR policy administration. This is an opportunity to gain exposure to core HR disciplines while contributing to projects that strengthen organisational culture, talent growth, and operational excellence.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with HR administration including preparing HR documents, and supporting HR policy application across the business.

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Support logistics for new joiners (documentation, induction scheduling, welcome materials) and leavers (collecting assets, exit interview coordination).

  • Helping to maintain HR data integrity, run routine reports (e.g., headcount, attrition, training completion), and support compliance tracking under guidance.

  • Supporting the coordination of training sessions and workshops, tracking attendance and completions, and assisting with learning content logistics and feedback collection.

  • Supporting internal HR communications, employee surveys, recognition activities, and culture initiatives across the Ireland site.

  • Helping to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures; support documentation for audits and SHE activities as directed.

  • Contributing to annual cross-functional HR cycles in areas such as performance management cycles, compensation and benefits administration, providing research, coordination, and documentation.

  • Acting as a point of contact for routine HR queries, escalating complex issues to the appropriate HR team.

  • Finding opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve employee experience, proposing ideas and supporting implementation.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Ongoing studies in Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Enthusiastic, with a proactive approach to tasks.
