Introduction to role
Are you ready to lead and innovate? This is a fantastic opportunity to take charge and sustain high engagement levels with the MEA Above Market and International Above Market Medical, Commercial Strategy, Oncology, and Corporate Affairs teams. As a key business partner, you'll be engaged early in business strategy development, directly influencing approximately $40 million in annual spend. Collaborate with business stakeholders, market procurement teams, and regional/global category teams to develop strategies for key areas of spend. Sitting within the EMEA Commercial Team, you'll connect business requirements to the external marketplace, delivering innovative solutions to support our enterprise strategies. Lead specific projects to drive a regional approach, establish patient-centric partnerships across International, and align OneProcurement strategy across our global commercial/indirect network.
Accountabilities
5+ years of proven experience in procurement in EMA or emerging markets
Foster connections with new collaborators and foster collaboration between multiple teams within procurement
Solve complex problems where there may not be an obvious solution
Support category strategy implementation in International Markets
Dedicated support for Collaborators in the MEA Above Market
Strong influencing skills to build agreement from collaborators and procurement colleagues to drive an aligned approach to handling key areas of spend
Handle demand from key categories and liaise with global/regional category teams to support
Identify and share standard processes and trends with the business and other procurement colleagues
Champion the procurement value proposition and align to business strategy
Understand and embody enterprise risk and sustainability objectives
SRM with key external suppliers and partners, when required
Apply internal AZ network to connect collaborators and align on similar activities
Provide trainings on procurement policy and processes
Crucial Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
Good working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Organisational Change management – to exhibit resiliency and flexibility, recognizing that it may take time to build the level of engagement and outcomes desired
Ability to optimally influence a diverse group of collaborators across several different markets in the International Region, both internally and externally
Comfortable with applying both verbal and written communication to effectively engage with collaborators worldwide
Experience in an international matrixed environment
Experience collaborating with senior team members
Knowledge of procurement systems (SAP, Coupa etc.)
Champion procurement principles and able to challenge the business when appropriate
