We are looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our team at AstraZeneca, Rare Disease in São Paulo. As an MSL, you will be the scientific expert providing medical leadership in establishing a deep understanding of the medical landscape in relation to Hematology and Nephrology and related AstraZeneca products with the medical community in the field. You will be a peer scientific expert who communicates accurate and applicable science to Healthcare Practitioners (HCPs) within Brazil.

Accountabilities:

Your role will involve developing and maintaining peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts in a relevant therapeutic area. You will collaborate with physicians on medical affairs initiatives including publications, investigator-sponsored research (ISR), regional advisory boards, regional medical education opportunities, local studies, key projects, training, and speaker development. You will also provide strategic insight and input to AstraZeneca activities related to Hematology and Nephrology and support all functions within the Country to ensure achievement of local medical objectives.

Essential Skills/Experience:

- Degree in Healthcare areas

- Post graduation Stricto Sensu (master degree or PhD required)

- Previous MSL experience required

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both local language and in English (mandatory)

- Experience in relevant therapeutic areas related to drug development, recently-launched and marketed biologics/therapies

- Candidates must have well-established networks and active relationships with KOLs focused on relevant therapeutic areas

- Candidate should have excellent communication skills (oral and written)

- Energetically embraces responsibilities, demonstrates ability to achieve goals

- Has a strong personal initiative, and functions well as part of a cross-functional team

- Exhibits excellent time management and able to work independently

- Ability to travel throughout Brazil for up 60% of the time

- Required travel to medical meetings, team meetings and other group meetings - Maintain compliance with all internal and external legal and regulatory guidelines

- Deliver quality medical education presentations in a variety of settings (e.g. staff meetings, round tables, hospital meeting activities) and obtain feedback that can be disseminated throughout the organization

- Develop and maintain an effective collaborative working relationship with the wider matrix team

- Demonstrated ability to influence important customers, challenge common perceptions and implement medical affairs tools to improve patient care and outcomes

- Good analytical skills as applied to medical, scientific and technical information

- Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively evaluate medical/scientific literature and develop effective medical strategies and communication strategies
