Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager will understand the market, map external opportunities, drive strategic engagement, and implement growth initiatives to expand AstraZeneca Brazil’s pharmaceutical portfolio across all therapeutic areas (Oncology, Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism, Respiratory & Immunology, Vaccines & Immune Therapies and Rare Disease), with a primary focus on the Brazilian private market. The role covers end-to-end deal sourcing, opportunity assessment, cross-functional due diligence, and the negotiation of in-/out-licensing and strategic partnerships.
Main activities:
Lead strategic projects end-to-end (prospection, internal approvals, and negotiations), ensuring robust internal and external governance in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Act as the BD champion for your therapeutic areas, boldly driving the workstream and building a high-quality pipeline of opportunities.
Lead planning tools and frameworks for strategic affairs projects, engaging a broad set of local cross-functional stakeholders and fostering a culture shift mindset.
Ensure priorities are aligned across local, regional, and global stakeholders, spanning both business and operations teams.
Connect and engage internal teams (including those outside Brazil) to ensure adherence to legal and compliance best practices.
Map and analyze market and competitive dynamics, generating insights to inform portfolio and partnering strategy.
Mandatory Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, Business Administration, or related fields.
Understanding of Brazilian healthcare dynamics, particularly the private market.
Demonstrated track record in opportunity evaluation, financial modeling, and deal execution.
Prior experience in Business Development within pharmaceutical or life sciences.
Advanced English proficiency.
Prior experience with planning tools and project management frameworks.
Preferred Requirements:
Advanced Spanish proficiency.
Experience in strategic consulting at a leading firm (e.g., global top-tier consulting firm).
