Undergraduate Summer Internships in Coppell, TX

The Internships at this site will run on a 12-week program schedule from May 18, 2026 – August 7, 2026. This is a paid, full-time-hourly (40 hours/week) position at the AstraZeneca manufacturing facility located in Coppell, TX.

Over the course of the summer, each intern will perform department specific day-to-day activities as assigned by their Supervisor.  Each intern will also be assigned a key project of which they will be responsible for leading, executing and reporting out on to Site Leadership and staff. Interns also participate in various professional development activities to gain a broad understanding of all functions at the Coppell, TX site and the AstraZeneca enterprise.  

Roles at Coppell can fall under the following departments:

Pharmaceutical Technology and Development

  • Define and execute a scoped technical project with measurable impact.

  • Run GMP‑aligned studies and drive data to decisions.

  • Communicate and operationalize work with cross‑functional teams through presentations and reports.

Site Program Management 

  • Process development batches.

  • Perform process control system.

  • Equipment and utilities qualification.

Validation

  • Periodic review of equipment and report writing.

Process Engineering 

  • Evaluate process data and implement process improvement project(s).

  • Assist with troubleshooting/problem solving. 

Quality Control

  • Facilitate project meetings

  • Support data analysis for projects

  • Support mapping activities for QC and QA process flow and document updates related to standard work projects.

Supply Chain

  • Assist in collecting organizing and analyzing operational data from various sources.

  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate key findings and insights.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.

Individual roles' requirements vary, and the below are applicable to all:

  • ​US Work Authorization is required at time of application.   Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa (e.g., CPT, H1-B, F-1 (OPT), TN, or other non-immigrant status).  This role will not be providing CPT or OPT letters of support.

  • Studying to complete a Bachelor’s degree related to any of the above roles, such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.

  • Candidates must have an expected graduation date set for after August 2026. 

  • Basic understanding of technical areas related to functional area of each internship position.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.  

  • Candidates must adhere to the May 18, 2026 start date.

  • Ability to report onsite to Coppell, TX 5 days a week. These roles will not provide relocation assistance.

  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Must have demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives. 

  • Must have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
