Introduction to role
Join a world-leading pharmaceutical company headquartered in the United Kingdom, operating in over 100 countries. As a Senior Manager - SAP BW, you will be part of a technical team for a large SAP development, support, and maintenance project spanning several SAP landscapes across continents. We are seeking an experienced SAP BW Senior Manager with expertise in People Management, Leading AMS/BAU teams, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to drive the design, implementation, and support of end-to-end business intelligence solutions. This role also demands a solid background in Application Maintenance support, people management, support services, and resource optimization to ensure the successful delivery of the BI platform.
Accountabilities
Lead a team of 10 to 12 members and manage the BW platforms & BAU.
Collaborate with business & IT partners to understand business and data requirements.
Lead business discussions as a BW/BI SME, understand processes, and deliver high-quality solutions accommodating global solutions.
Design, develop, and optimize SAP BW applications, including data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
Translate business requirements into scalable SAP BW/HANA, Datasphere, and SAC solutions.
Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring timely delivery and alignment to quality standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the SAP BW team, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Oversee resource allocation, workload distribution, and team performance to optimize project outcomes.
Ensure system performance, reliability, and security by implementing standard processes and conducting regular audits.
Fix and resolve complex issues in SAP BW systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Maintain the platform and be responsible for SLA (incidents and tasks) while driving enhancements for existing solutions.
Lead communication with teams and collaborators on request analysis, feasibility studies, solution walkthroughs, and cross-team project collaboration.
Essential Skills/Experience
Proven experience as an SAP BW Lead with a solid background in project and support management
Expertise in SAP BW tools, data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
Strong leadership and resource management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions
12+ years of relevant experience in SAP BW/HANA solutions
People Management experience (3 to 5 years)
Strong knowledge of multi-system landscape architecture and implementation in the areas of Modelling, Data Provisioning, SAP HANA Administration, reporting & SAP BW4HANA
Experience in HANA Modelling and SAP BW with Hybrid scenarios
Expertise in Native HANA hands-on development experience: creating complex SAP HANA models- Experience in supporting SAP BW/HANA Landscape - BAU Support
Hands-on experience in developing Bex/AFO reports- Production Support - Extensive experience in support, Data loads, resolving process chain errors, Transport Management, System Checks, Performance tuning
Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills
Ability to work in large and diverse teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Skills/Experience
Hands-on experience on SAC designing/implementing data models for analytical reporting
Knowledge in SLT, SDA & SDI will be a plus
Certified in BW4HANA & SAC
