Introduction to role:

Are you ready to make a difference in the world of data engineering? We are seeking a talented observability engineer to join our DataOps team. Your mission? To deliver visual insights that empower our Data Engineers, making observability a standard tool in their arsenal. If you're a self-motivated individual with the ability to design, develop, and support enterprise-grade observability solutions for real-time and statistical analysis visualizations, we want you on our team!

Accountabilities:

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

- Gathering and documenting requirements

- Architecting integrated solutions

- Designing, developing, and deploying observability solutions

- Creating compelling visualizations and storytelling

- Marketing and promoting the solution

- Troubleshooting and performance tuning

Essential Skills/Experience:

The candidate should have strong technical knowledge and experience in one or both of the following:

- Hands-on experience in Observability tool like Acceldata, MonteCarlo

- Having an experience in setting up Observability CoE from scratch in prior organisation is an added advantage.

- Statistical time series analysis and visualization in tools such as PowerBI and MicroStrategy

and/or

- Real-time status reporting and visualization in tools such as Splunk, Grafana and Kibana.

- Knowledge on Pipeline, Infrastructure and Cost Observability capability

- Knowledge on Data Quality tool will be an added advantage.

Within these two category of tools the following experience and skills are required:

- Strong knowledge of which type of reports are best suited to each application

- Excellent technical skills in ingesting relevant data from different sources

- Excellent technical skills in developing database schemas suitable for reporting

- Excellent technical skills in developing visualizations

- Ability to automate the provisioning and configuration of observability solutions using APIs

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Experience of what visualizations would be of benefit to the DevOps data engineer

- Understanding of how generic reports can be tailored to project specific needs

- Database knowledge around Relational and NoSQL database technologies.

- Experience working with AWS, Azure and GCP

- DAMA certification would be an added advantage.

Additional Skills and Experience:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team to achieve objectives.

- Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and/or SAFe.

- A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy and resilience.

- Eager to learn and develop new technology skills as required.

- Working with AI and/or ML to analyse and prepared data for visualisation.

Qualifications and experience:

- At least 4 – 6 years’ experience working with observability tools like Acceldata, MonteCarlo.

- Certified/experienced in at least one of the following: PowerBI, Splunk, Kibana, Grafana.
