AstraZeneca is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Cambridge, UK. Our Global Commercial Operations (GCO) team supports sales and marketing activities through centralized capabilities in digital content, campaign management, business analytics, and other commercial excellence activities. As part of the Global Business Services (GBS) function, we provide these services to over 60 countries.
Our commercial sales and marketing organization is shifting towards an integrated Omnichannel approach, part of our Growth Through Innovation (GTI) priorities. This transformation aims to enhance our customer-centric focus, deliver a differentiated customer experience, and increase our share of voice through digital channels. To achieve this, we must optimize our omnichannel delivery model, reduce bottlenecks, scale standard processes, and refine our approaches based on solid data.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst - Operations Data Reporting and Insights to oversee the development and delivery of actionable business insights through data reporting, analysis, and strategic planning. This role combines data management and project leadership responsibilities to drive business performance and ensure seamless execution of projects within Content and Omnichannel Operations. You will transform complex data into clear insights that inform decision-making while leading key initiatives that support our operational goals. This is a unique opportunity to shape our operations data and reporting capabilities and contribute to the success of our customer engagement efforts in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Accountabilities
Insights Generation & Decision Support
- Proactively identify insights and trends from data that drive continuous improvement across operations.
- Present findings and recommendations to LT and other collaborators in a clear, concise manner.
- Collaborate with leads to find opportunities for operational enhancements or performance optimization.
- Use a variety of data analysis and organization tools to discover the most impactful insights.
Project Management
- Lead, manage, and oversee multiple data-driven projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resources, working with collaborators to track progress and resolve potential roadblocks.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules and key achievements.
- Collaborate continuously with the Agile Scrum team to groom, refine issues and plan sprints to implement new reporting efficiencies or scoping efforts.
Data Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reports and analyses.
- Conduct deep dive analysis to support specific operational or pivotal initiatives.
- Design, develop, and deliver regular operational reports and dashboards, providing clear insights to collaborators at all levels of the organization.
- Translate reporting business needs into technical reporting requirements with acceptance criteria for hand over to Power BI development team. Work with and support the development team to implement and test these report requirements.
Collaborator Collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with key collaborators across departments to understand data needs and provide tailored reporting solutions.
- Serve as a key point of contact for data-related queries and project updates.
- Serve as a key liaison between Business End Users, IT and Power BI Development team; working with collaborators to identify their reporting/data requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Content & Omni Ops leadership, providing data-driven recommendations to inform strategy and execution.
- Partner with teams across GBS to ensure alignment and integration of data initiatives and enable integrated reporting to inform Customer Boards and other critical business processes.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior collaborators with clarity and impact.
Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate reporting processes and systems for opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices for data management and reporting across the organization.
- Lead initiatives to automate and streamline reporting functions to reduce manual efforts and increase accuracy.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in relevant area
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and insights generation, with at least 3 years in a project management role.
- Good experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of data governance and compliance standards
- Familiarity with the marketing lifecycle, including customer segmentation, campaign performance, and omnichannel marketing analytics
- Knowledge of Omnichannel enabling technology platforms and how they are leveraged to enable various aspects of customer experience
- Proficiency in SQL or similar query languages; familiarity with data management platforms and analytics software.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.

- Strong analytical attitude with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with multi-functional teams.
