Job Title: Lead Consultant - Network Reliability

Introduction to role
The NRE Lead Consultant will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of network technology at AstraZeneca. You will be responsible for the implementation, operation, and optimization of all network products, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Collaborating closely with Network Product Engineering, TSM teams, and other technology teams such as Cyber Security, Cloud, and Workplace Enterprise Services, you will deliver resilient network services to our customers.

- In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, ensure that technology-based solutions and services are fully supported by the right architectures, systems, and operating models.
- Lead all aspects of Network Services including Projects, Operations, Optimization, Automation, and Security.
- Partner with cross-technology teams to innovate, develop, and deploy Next Gen Wireless Network, LAN/WAN, Cloud, Security, and conferencing and collaboration technology solutions.
- Understand evolving work trends in design, engineering, and modeling applications to support underlying network infrastructure.
- Participate in a NetDevOps operating model to accelerate change delivery.
- Work on Service improvement activities and complete them within target dates.
Responsibilities
- Own network implementation, operations, reliability, and processes, translating AZ's strategic vision into Network solution engineering.
- Demonstrate proficiency in one or more technology domains to solve complex and mission-critical problems.
- Perform regular audits to proactively identify and remediate network risks or issues.
- Evaluate business requirements and identify solutions for applying business, information, and technology elements to solve specific problems.
- Influence portfolio investments for key technology solutions in line with strategic roadmaps.
- Ensure network operational support at scale for Block, Object, and File both on-premises and in the public cloud.
- Collaborate with the automation team to design, code, test, and deliver software to automate repetitive and manual operational work.
- Troubleshoot priority incidents, engage in blameless postmortems, and ensure permanent closure of incidents.
- Develop software for reliability and scale with minimal refactoring or changes.
- Successfully implement infrastructure weekend changes in product and environment.
- Identify gaps between applicable requirements and current procedures/controls; drive resolution of mitigating controls.
- Develop and implement solutions that strengthen business operating models, enhance client experience, and improve efficiency and controls.
- Work with business partners to design and implement enhancements to existing processes or business applications.
- Prepare high-quality CRD, HLD, and LLD design documents.
- Sequence activities, schedule tasks, and prepare project plans.
- Plan and conduct meticulous wireless network tests and generate detailed test reports from performance, security, scale, and resiliency perspectives.
- Design and implement wireless solutions in multi-tenant environments.
- Possess good knowledge of public cloud connectivity including Cloud exchange, direct connect, Express route to Public Cloud providers.
Essential Skills/Experience
- CCIE/CCNP or equivalent certification with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant working experience, including the last 5 years in large-scale network architecture design implementation and support network deployment, implementation, and operations.
- TOGAF or equivalent and ITIL certifications are an added advantage.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technological ideas to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to analyze and resolve project-related issues.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment, be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize, and prioritize work.
- Significant experience working with vendors, professional services, and providers.
- Automation-first approach.
- In-depth technical hands-on experience in one or more of the following capabilities: SD-WAN, Wireless, Network Security, DC, Cloud Networking or Network Automation.
- Deep technical knowledge in high availability design, implementation, optimization, and operations.
- Experience working in large enterprises is an added advantage.
