Hyperautomation and Process Mining is a strategic approach to rapidly identify, vet, and automate as many business and IT processes as possible. It involves orchestrated use of multiple sophisticated technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Chatbot, Low Code – No Code, Process mining (Celonis), Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), etc. Gartner reports Hyperautomation and Process Mining as top strategic technology trends and estimates that more than 70% of large commercial organizations have dozens of Hyperautomation initiatives underway.
The Hyperautomation and Process Mining team is accountable for developing the IT2025 Hyperautomation and Process Mining strategy and delivering a future roadmap towards AstraZeneca’s Growth through Innovation vision. This team provides technology leadership across the enterprise and possesses a comprehensive range of automation capabilities to deliver.
This role is accountable for partnering with AstraZeneca business and IT collaborators for portfolio management and delivery of Hyper Automation solutions on a large scale.
Accountabilities
Essential Skills/Experience
Develop and implement project/program plans, including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities, and quality in line with the IT Project Management Methodology.
Oversee project/program budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, organizational change, and status, ensuring timely reporting and informed decision-making for partners and review boards. Coordinate project workstream delivery and manage dependencies within and across programs.
Maintain strong relationships with key business collaborators to ensure accurate capture of requirements and alignment with project/program goals. Lead team member meetings and communicate updates on status, issues, and risks.
Ensure robust risk and issue management processes are in place and actively used, addressing and intensifying concerns as needed.
Champion a cohesive project team, providing leadership to drive success and offering coaching and development to team members where necessary.
Lead changes to project/program scope, ensuring all impacts are assessed, approved, and communicated to customers and review boards.
Develop service transition plans for a smooth handover into support and maintenance phases.
Ensure the project team aligns with standards such as ADF, quality, compliance, and follows defined processes, technical capabilities, and standard methodologies. Establish program governance and lead Decision Point reviews and Steering Committee meetings.
Coordinate the creation, review, and submission of RPA achievement work (e.g., PDD, SDD, code walkthroughs, runbooks, and application releases).
Ensure the realization of encouraged project benefits aligns with the work being done and is well understood by collaborators and the project team.
Manage partner relationships by identifying key business and IT collaborators and addressing their individual needs and levels of influence. Give to communication plans and organizational change management for projects and customers.
Lead sprint planning, including defining complexity grids to estimate story points. Track team velocity and efficiency for capacity planning and define the RPA development roadmap for each quarter.
Be responsible for contract renewals and negotiations, involving procurement teams and negotiating with suppliers to ensure timely contract sign-offs, thus maintaining compliance with BAU components and environments.
Support the continuous development of a world-class project management center of excellence, ensuring standard processes are adopted and reinforced.
Collaborate effectively with:
The Supplier Management function to oversee the delivery of small to medium-sized supplier contracts, purchase orders, and invoicing.
Suppliers to ensure the delivery of agreed-upon products and services, maintaining alignment with project delivery standards.
Key business team members to ensure accurate capture of business requirements and dedication to project/program objectives.
IT Service Management teams, where experience in handling delivery teams will be advantageous.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Strong presentation and reporting skills
Minimum 10+ years of program and project management experience
Familiarity with RPA platforms: Automation Anywhere, Power Automate Desktop, BluePrism, UIPath
CSM or ITIL or Six Sigma Certification
Large Program and Project Management Experience
Master’s / Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
