Introduction to role
Are you passionate about data and eager to make an impact? As a Junior Reporting Associate, you will prepare data for business decision-makers, helping to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, and predict business outcomes. You will create ongoing reports and data visualizations to aid in data storytelling within a defined scope, using established tools and standards. This role offers the opportunity to build skills and experience while performing simple data analysis tasks under supervision.
Accountabilities
Create various types of reports and visualizations to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators related to business activities within the team’s remit.
Design and develop standardized and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business collaborators.
Define and understand analysis requirements and identify appropriate data sources.
Develop, implement, and support analytical and data visualization solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in business application areas within defined project scope.
Clearly and objectively communicate insights and results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations.
Translate business problems into appropriate analytics problems and solutions using established frameworks and tools.
Understand Risk, Assurance, Privacy, Information Security, and Regulatory policies to ensure data and information controls are in place and adhered to.
Build effective relationships with an established range of partners to ensure utilization and value of information resources and services.
Develop, maintain, and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard practices, and new developments in analytics.
Implement working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards and aligned with defined governance frameworks and policies.
Handle simple ad hoc requests of data (sourcing, extraction, profiling, integration) to support Data Science model generation and business insight.
Create, revise, and manage a range of documents such as manuals, procedures, reports, and technical specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect information ensuring documentation is thorough and precise. Edit and proofread documents to enhance clarity, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards. Oversee version control to guarantee that the latest document versions are accessible and appropriately archived. Establish and uphold a structured documentation process ensuring documents are readily available to authorized individuals.
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent number of years of experience
Proficient, with 2+ years of recent experience in data analysis tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, VBA, Power BI, SQL, Python, AWS, Databricks, Microsoft Office, ETL
Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, graph)
Demonstrable ability to draw conclusions from data and communicate in a succinct fashion to partners
Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills
High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines
Strong analytical ability
English (fluent written and spoken)
