Introduction to role
Global Supply Chain & Strategy (GSC&S) leads the design, planning, and development of AstraZeneca’s end-to-end supply chains, delivering clear strategic focus and optimizing performance. The technology, data, and information that underpin the Global Supply network are key accountabilities of GSC&S. Third Party Supply (3PS) sits within GSC&S and is responsible for the supply of products that AstraZeneca has divested yet continues to manufacture for our partners. This is achieved through proactively managing the transition and execution of order management and forecasting to our external customers with whom we have supply contracts. 3PS serves as the key interface between 30 external customers and the relevant global supply network and functions, providing a clear line of sight to the patient, enabling the role holder to see the true impact of our product supply.
The 3PS Systems and Data Manager has a broad understanding of complex supply chains and demand planning processes and has experience in exploiting technology and MasterData to deliver efficient and seamless product supply. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all data management and systems architecture supporting 3PS, you will be the key point of contact for Operations IT, Global Data & Analytics, and Regional Process Networks. You will work with 3PS Business Process Owners (BPOs) to identify and deliver continuous improvement, moving towards automation and digitization of core processes. Aligned with Operations Data Office and Global Process Owners, you will drive Master Data standardization across 3PS Demand & Switch processes and embed a strong culture of documentation, adherence, and governance.
Accountabilities
Business owner for 3PS Supply Chain Portal. Leverage functionality and identify enhancements to support further digitization and continuous improvement. Ownership of end-to-end automated order management system.
Business contact for order processing solution (Esker), working with external providers to address issues, identify improvement opportunities, and project manage delivery of updates.
Deliver benefits tracking metrics for systems development and enhancements with reporting to Senior Management.
Provide technical expertise to 3PS BPOs in the design of key 3PS master & transactional data standards, have oversight of local data standards variants, and drive standardization & harmonization. Own 3PS MasterData documentation and SC Playbook content.
Represent 3PS to ensure requirements are understood in key IT programs including Axial and OMP. Support project change management activities including testing, training, and capability development of the Demand Planning and Switch Management Team.
Work with Planning Excellence and GSC&S analytics to align 3PS data standards and governance with those of Global Demand Planning moving towards standardized ways of working.
Alongside BPOs drive alignment and improvements in Customer & Vendor Master Data. Recognized SME for MDG, data attributes, and data management processes. Build capability across the 3PS team.
Digital Champion elevating Data & Analytics capability of the 3PS community through education, coaching, and citizen development.
Citizen Developer level 3 delivering digitization of current 3PS processes. Using technical capability to move manual ways of working to Power BI, Automate, Apps, and Smartsheet.
Essential Skills/Experience
Graduate status or equivalent
Excellent English written and spoken communication skills
Global Supply Chain, manufacturing or site process experience
Experience in Business Process, Project & Change Management
Technical expertise in SAP, MDG, APO, OMP
SME in LoCoNoCo solutions (Power suite, Smartsheet etc.)
