Introduction to Role
The translational PKPD team provides global leadership in DMPK science on Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) and Radioconjugates (RCs) at AstraZeneca. We advise drug discovery project teams on DMPK and PKPD strategy, explore the PK/PD/Efficacy relationships in pre-clinical models, use these models to build quantitative understanding of the dose & schedule requirements for therapeutic intervention across different cancer patient populations.
Embedded within the Clinical Pharmacology and Quantitative Pharmacology (CPQP) department, we work closely with Clinical Pharmacology colleagues - this positioning provides aunique bridge from discovery to the clinic, offering opportunity to also learn about Drug Clinical Development phases. As an intern, you will help advance our translational PKPD approaches for ADCs and RCs —contributing analyses that inform dose selection, schedule optimization, and mechanistic understanding— while gaining hands-on exposure to model-based decision-making in a highly collaborative,impact-driven environment.

This internship is being offered exclusively to the Broadening Horizons Cohort to support this programme and our commitments to it.”
Accountabilities:
- complete required onboarding and technical training, including PK/PD fundamentals and software tools; proactively seek guidance to close knowledge gaps
- deliver assigned project(s) to agreed milestones, working independently day-to-day while seeking input on critical decisions
- communicate and share results and findings regularly to team members and to other forums as appropriate
- reflect on learningobjectives, track skills acquired, and deliver a final presentation summarizing project objectives, methods, results
Essential Criteria
Currently undertaking a PhD in Chemical or Biological Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field
Strongcommunicationskills and ability to work independently
Desirable:
Familiarity/Experiencewith ADME and PKPD aspects of large molecules
Familiarity/Experiencewith PKPD (and related) mathematical modelling
Hands-on experience with Matlab, Simcyp, R, or other PKPD-relevant software
