As the Senior Director of Solution Delivery and Transformation, you'll spearhead major transformation programs that align with our ambitious 2030 strategy, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving scalable, sustainable, and innovative solutions that enhance our ability to extract value from data, ultimately accelerating the development of life-changing medicines for patients worldwide.
Accountabilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and present a vision, directional proposals and business cases for specialist data and AI-related initiatives; articulating value, stakeholder alignment, resource needs, and key milestones to achieve buy-in, investment and go/no-go decisions.
Develop multi-year strategic roadmaps for R&D Data Office initiatives with clear annual objectives and key results.
Foster effective relationships with senior collaborators across R&D and IT to achieve collective agreement on shared goals.
Programme Execution and Governance
Ensure effective decision-making and programme governance.
Oversee programme staffing and budgets and agree on comprehensive programme roles and operating structures.
Manage interdependencies (within or beyond the project) to ensure successful delivery.
Ensure effective risk, issue and quality management processes.
Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing, cross-functional team.
Value Realization and Change Management
Define and conduct programme performance reviews and implementation evaluations.
Facilitate smooth adoption of solutions through effective change management approaches.
Drive stakeholder alignment and communication throughout the transformation process.
Innovation and Technology Adoption
Stay abreast of emerging data and AI technologies relevant to R&D, drawing upon this knowledge to drive strategy
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and approaches in data and AI that could enable Data Office capabilities
Essential Skills/Experience:
Business Degree, or scientific degree with equivalent strategic leadership
Significant experience in programme leadership, with a proven track record Extensive experience at the intersection of data, and pharma R&D or biotech industries
Demonstrable experience of developing and driving data or AI transformation, with a proven track record
Demonstrate strong relationship building skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others in a complex landscape to achieve objectives
Experience of defining business strategies and influencing executive stakeholders around a shared vision
Evidence of leading and developing innovative solutions that have a major impact within a business area or organisation
Strong networking and consulting skills with good internal and external links
Ability to communicate and translate between detailed technical and business information
Managing, developing and leading a team of people in different locations
Proven skills and experience of managing and controlling large budgets or staff rosters
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Post-graduate degree in IT, Data Science or Data Management
Experience in pharmaceutical R&D
Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
Detailed knowledge of patient data types and their purpose and use within pharmaceutical drug development
Knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements for processing, storing and accessing personal data
