As the Senior Director, IT Business Partner HR CORE, you will be the strategic link between Human Resources and IT, driving alignment of HR's strategic goals with global technology solutions. This role requires strong leadership, business sense, and a deep understanding of HR processes and digital transformation trends. The Senior Director acts as a change agent, championing digital innovation and continuous improvement, while encouraging collaboration among HR business partners , IT teams, and external partners to deliver scalable solutions aligned with AstraZeneca’s mission and strategic objectives.
Accountabilities:
Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the digital and AI strategy for HR CORE functions.
Business Partnership: Serve as the primary advisor to senior HR leaders.
AI & Digital Solution Delivery: Lead exploration and implementation of digital HR platforms.
Portfolio, Project & Organisational Change: Govern HRIT projects for efficient resource utilization.
Partner Engagement & Collaboration: Champion collaboration between HR, IT, and external partners.
Data Governance, Security & Compliance: Ensure integrity and security of HR data.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Supervise technology trends and pilot solutions.
People Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing cross-functional team.
Essential Skills/Experience:
University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Significant experience (typically 14+ years) in IT leadership, HR technology, or digital transformation roles within large, complex, global organizations.
Demonstrated track record of partnering with HR functions (CHRO & Head of COEs) to deliver innovative digital and AI/analytics-enabled solutions.
Experience leading enterprise-level HRIT programs or platforms, such as Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar.
Evidence of AI mastery in HR, leading and developing innovative solutions.
Experience managing technology portfolios, budgets, and cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environment.
Experience of building business cases & mobilising high value investments.
Experience of leading teams with a demonstrable track record of motivational and achievement-oriented leadership.
Experience of managing third party suppliers and have strong network and consulting skills.
Deep understanding of HR business processes and best practices.
Strong knowledge of digital HR technologies, data management, and integration frameworks.
Knowledge of AI concepts relevant to HR.
Familiarity with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements in HR systems.
Exceptional partners management and communication skills.
Strategic and analytical problem solver with a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
Demonstrable experience leading change and promoting digital adoption in a global context.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
People leadership experience.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Prior experience in HR tech leadership roles in large organizations.
Evidence of external engagement in digital transformation, HR tech forums, or AI communities.
