AstraZeneca is seeking an Associate Director for Tax Reporting to join our dynamic in-house Global Tax Operations team. As a qualified accountant or tax professional with substantial group tax reporting experience, you'll have the chance to influence our tax reporting activities within a FTSE 100 company. Supported by our global tax reporting team, you'll lead the delivery of quarterly tax reporting activities and support group tax reporting processes. Accountabilities:
- Lead the delivery of our global quarterly and year-end tax reporting process, including the preparation of effective tax rate analysis and financial statement disclosures.
- Oversee senior managers and the Tax Delivery Team in supporting the tax reporting processes across the UK, Sweden, and the US.
- Drive efficient and accurate tax reporting processes, embedding principles of materiality and process improvement.
- Ensure tax accounting judgments are appropriate, including deferred tax asset recognition, uncertain tax positions, and one-off items.
- Ensure compliance with SoX and FCF controls.
- Manage day-to-day interactions with the Group’s auditors and outsource provider.
- Deliver the Group’s Country by Country report.
- Support wider tax team in modelling, global minimum tax, and other tax activities on an ad hoc basis.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Qualified tax professional or accountant
- Experience of delivering a tax reporting process in-house or in practice
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organised manner
- Efficient process management and delegation skills
- Ability to operate within and deliver against tight timelines
