What you’ll do

As a Key Account Manager, you’ll be the trusted partner to account manage institutions across your region—owning the strategy and relationships that unlock access to cutting‑edge lung cancer therapies. You’ll engage stakeholders through AstraZeneca’s approved channels, spot growth opportunities early, and bring back actionable insights that shape both day‑to‑day execution and long‑term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly define and refine primary and secondary target key customers in line with business and therapy strategies.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously strengthen relationships with key customers in your region. Gather and analyse customer insights to identify evolving needs and strategic opportunities. Leverage available and approved AstraZeneca communication channels to engage with customers based on their profiles and preferences.
  • Plan and flexibly execute commercial and sales activities to achieve ambitious targets outlined in the Sales Incentive Plan.
  • Conduct ongoing regional analysis to uncover sales potential, maximizing opportunities for AstraZeneca’s products.
  • Promote AstraZeneca portfolio using approved materials and in accordance with SmPC, driving disease awareness and improving early diagnosis rates.
  • Collaborate extensively with Product Managers, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other Business Unit colleagues to deliver sales and marketing initiatives that support brand success.
  • Provide timely feedback on marketing activities and adapt strategies to maximize effectiveness based on customer responses.
  • Actively participate in the preparation of tailored business offers (including events, public contracts, and demand management) as required.
  • Ensure effective and ethical management of allocated funds and resources.
  • Monitor and report competitive activities and risks that might impact AZ’s position in the market.
  • Ensure compliance with European and national legislation, as well as all relevant codes, including EFPIA and the AIFP Code of Ethics.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical, legal, safety, and reporting requirements—including prompt reporting of pharmacovigilance and product quality issues.

Your profile

  • We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds, whether they have experience in Oncology, Specialist Diseases, or other therapy areas within original Pharma. What matters most is having the right profile and the potential to develop and apply the necessary skills to contribute effectively and continue progressing in their career.
  • University degree Medical Sciences / Pharmacy / Medical Engineering / Chemistry / Biology etc preferred but not essential.
  • Passion for science and committed to make a positive personal impact.
  • Curiousness and learning agility.
  • Strong ability, or potential to develop it, in engaging and influencing decision making among key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, e.g., mid and senior level specialty care professionals, key accounts in the medical community.
  • Collaborative and inclusive: exercise anticipation and responsiveness to the needs of others; ability to modify own approach to different people.
  • Ability to analyse problems and focus on finding solutions - identify the key issues that need action and consider options from a variety of angles in order to identify an innovative solution.
  • Able to use balanced reasons and metrics to recommend actions and support decision-making
  • Resourceful and tenacious in approaching problems and leveraging all available resources for developing solutions.
  • Fluent Czech and advanced English and literacy in common corporate technology
