Diverse Minds. Bold Disruptors. Meaningful Impact.
AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious disease. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
It’s our patients that come first, every decision we make and action we take is centered around how we can better respond to their evolving needs, as well as those of healthcare professionals and partners. It’s why we are shaping patient care for the future, working along the whole experience to give hope to billions of lives across the world.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Key Account Manager (Oncology Breast Cancer) to partner with Oncology Centers and specialty clinics to improve patient pathways and expand access to AstraZeneca’s oncology portfolio. You will map medical needs, identify business opportunities, and deliver value propositions aligned to center objectives, building long-term, strategic collaborations with decision-makers and cross-functional franchise partners. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Breast Cancer Team where we have a strong pipeline, including new indications and new molecules.
Key Responsibilities
- Account ownership and strategy: Build and nurture long‑term partnerships with treatment providers, institutional decision‑makers, and other relevant HCPs across assigned centers. Map patient pathways and identify intervention points to enable timely access to our oncology portfolio.
- Needs mapping and value creation: Identify stakeholders’ needs and opportunities to improve product positioning. Proactively surface business opportunities and tailor value propositions to center objectives.
- Omnichannel engagement: Engage decision‑makers through the right channels—face‑to‑face visits, referrals, regional roundtables (in‑person/virtual)—to deliver compelling, compliant scientific and value narratives.
- Insight sharing and planning: Analyze center-level data and insights, synthesize findings into robust KAM Account Plans, update quarterly, and present semi‑annually to the oncology franchise team.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the oncology franchise (Franchise Lead, Medical Advisor, Medical Science Liaison, Product Manager, Diagnostic Manager, Market Access Manager, Coordinator) to align on strategy and execution; participate in regular cross‑functional forums and collaborate across franchises when needed.
- Operational excellence: Prioritize resources within centers, execute KAM plan activities within budget, and manage territory processes, including weekly planning and daily reporting in Veeva, plus monthly territorial reports.
- External engagement: Represent AstraZeneca’s oncology portfolio at national and regional congresses and maintain a strong external network.
- Administration and compliance: Complete role-related administrative tasks (expenses, leave, etc.) and perform all activities in line with company policies/SOPs and ethical standards, actively engaging in ongoing training and capability development.
Your profile
- Oncology and market expertise: Experience in specialty care, ideally oncology, with a strong understanding of institutional decision-making and patient pathway dynamics.
- Account leadership: Proven ability to develop account strategies, prioritize resources, and deliver measurable outcomes across complex healthcare systems.
- Stakeholder excellence: Credibility with senior clinical and administrative stakeholders; strong communication and negotiation skills; proficiency in omnichannel engagement.
- Analytical mindset: Ability to synthesize clinical, operational, and commercial insights into actionable account plans and track progress.
- Collaboration and agility: Comfortable operating in cross‑functional teams and adapting to evolving priorities to meet shared objectives.
- Tools and process discipline: Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva) and strong reporting and documentation habits.
- Education and language: Relevant university degree preferred; fluency in Hungarian and proficiency in English.
