Introduction to Role:
Join our Global Business Services (GBS) Organization as a Senior Manager in the GBS Publications COE, within the Medical Delivery Tower. This role is perfect for strategic, collaborative, innovative individuals with publication experience and strong communication skills. As a Senior Manager, you will build and lead a team for the assigned therapeutic area(s), delivering high-quality scientific publications within established timelines. This is your chance to work in a global environment with a team that is always innovating and striving for excellence in Publications to help transform care and improve patients’ lives.

Accountabilities:
As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a publication team of Publication Managers and Writers for assigned therapeutic area(s). You will manage the development of ICMJE and GPP2022 compliant high-quality scientific publications, provide oversight for scientific publication projects, and conduct reviews of publication projects for quality and alignment with medical/scientific objectives. You will also establish, maintain, and expand business relationships with staff from functional areas collaborating on publication projects. 

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Master’s degree in a scientific, medical, health, communications, health outcomes, health economics, public health related field with a minimum of 8 years clinical/medical/scientific writing experience. PhD degree preferred.
• Excellent writing skills (CMPP, BELS, AMWA, MWC certification a plus). CMPP certification preferred.
• Multiple years of experience in scientific writing, publication management or publication processes
• A strong understanding across all aspects of scientific publication strategy, planning and execution.
• Preferably familiarity with ICMJE, GPP, and other international standards for ensuring the quality and transparency of publications.
• Knowledge of clinical/scientific publication structure, content, and quality. Knowledge of scientific publication regulations and best practices.
• Hands-on-experience on iEnvision/Datavision will be an advantage.
• Collaborative teamwork track record. Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of the team to enable higher performance.
• Good business communication and presentation skills. Business Fluent English 
• Microsoft Office and Internet navigation proficiencies essential.
• Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement. Embraces the ideas of others, nurtures innovation and manages innovation to reality.
• Well versed with publication guidelines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience conducting literature searches and literature reviews.
• Strong team leader and the ability to adapt to competing priorities.
• Experience working with physicians/key opinion leaders in an industry or clinical setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
• Experienced in conducting/moderating author kick-off calls, driving study results meeting.
• Profound knowledge and experience in handling author queries, scientific congress sessions, communication to journal editors/congress groups.
• Experience leading others, including relationship and team building, setting expectations, holding others accountable, and technical coaching.
• Strong scientific communication skills, including extensive experience in writing, reviewing, and publishing scientific materials and the ability to appraise scientific literature and raw data critically.
• Experienced the lifecycle of managing different publication items (abstracts/posters/manuscripts).
