What you’ll do – Franchise Analyst, Europe and Canada Oncology (EUCAN)
The EUCAN Analytics and Insights team provides a critical role to support country launch and performance excellence as a key member of the Regional Tumour Team (RTT). Franchise A&I leads provide key coordination and alignment of country and global insight generation, performance tracking and project alignment and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Leads the integration of insight generation and analysis from a variety of sources to inform strategy development, performance monitoring and forecasting. Coordinates and consolidates a variety of information from a variety of sources to ensure a consistent and comparable view across brands/tumour areas with a primary focus on launch and in market priority indications. Specific focus areas include but are not limited to:
- Develops and delivers asset/indication forecast and related assumptions based on internal standard methodology processes triangulating with the most robust data possible to improve confidence.
- Ensures that forecasts are (i) presented transparently and consistently in line with GA&I standards and best practice (ii) underpinned with an AZ proprietary view of the most important assumptions, based on robust secondary data analytics plus AZ proprietary data sources and intelligence.
- Leads, negotiates and interacts with internal partners to validate forecast assumptions and market understanding.
- Align on and implement performance tracking programs that allow for a simple and consistent measurement of KPI’s across the EUCAN countries.
- Streamline performance dashboards for the relevant tumour franchise.
- Facilitate the forecasting process for the Mid Term Planning period (MTP) as the link from the global and regional organization to the country team. Create a robust and efficient model to minimize country workload and maximise quality, accuracy and consistency across the EUCAN region
- Manages the transition of A&I responsibilities from the global to the EUCAN/country responsibility at the appropriate pre-launch landmarks.
- Provides objective quantitative analyses and leads the development of cases to determine key opportunities and address critical business issues for the brand and/or TA.
- Ensures that interpretation of primary market research is generating relevant actionable differentiating insights; through a closeness to the RTT and a strong understanding of the therapy area which allows translation of insight gaps into correct questions and a technical expertise in research design and interpretation to generate relevant answers.
- Develops a deep therapy area knowledge bridging from the clinical development through to commercialization.
- Manages all primary research in accordance with internal AZ compliance policies and standard methodologies, with agreed preferred vendors.
- Remains accountable for personal ongoing professional education in case development (including development and commercial costs), market research, forecasting and analytics, to ensure the best approaches are always applied.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in a science or mathematics field
- proven experience in a similar analytical or RWE role within pharmaceuticals or consulting
- Primary market research experience
- Ability to use data and analysis to identify key trends and insights.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally.
- Advanced communication skills in both presenting data and understanding/interpreting business questions.
- Current or previous oncology experience is required.
Desirable Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent experience in Scientific or mathematical field
- Experience in one of the focus tumour areas
- Previous experience working across multiple countries.
