Protection Analyst

Accountabilities:
As an Information Protection Analyst, you will be an integral part of our newly established Information Protection team within the Enterprise Data Office (EDO). Your role will focus on safeguarding AstraZeneca's data by effectively triaging and reviewing data loss and access violation alerts, conducting comprehensive end-to-end incident responses, and performing detailed log scanning to detect unauthorized data exfiltration. You'll work closely with cross-company responders and other stakeholders to swiftly address potential threats, ensuring that our data remains secure and compliant with all relevant statutory frameworks. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be vital in identifying patterns and trends that inform our overall incident response strategy.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Experience working in data protection or security environments, preferably within global organizations.
- Familiarity with end-to-end incident response processes and effective management of security incidents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze incident data and logs, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations.
- Understanding of log scanning and analysis to detect unauthorized data exfiltration and other security threats.
- Knowledge of relevant statutory frameworks, such as the Data Protection Act and GDPR, and the ability to implement actionable controls based on data standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively document incidents and responses and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Keen attention to detail when triaging and reviewing alerts, ensuring accurate threat assessment and response.
