This role is designed to lead the Global Early Asset & Business Development (EA/BD) Team. The role serves as a strategic business partner to Early Asset Commercial and the Global Product Team, providing market insights that drive key business investment decisions and TA Strategy development. The EA/BD Sr. Director reports to the Global/ U.S Head of Insights, Analytics & Forecasting, R&I/ V&I, leads a global and U.S IAF team, collaborates with Commercial, Finance and Competitive Intelligence to enable delivery of recommendations that drive senior executive decisions concerning the AZ pipeline.

Planning & Alignment of the Insights/Budget required to inform FRC/LSPC Decisions
Handles complexity with well-integrated synthesized insights and instills confidence in the presence of ambiguity
Builds a high performing team and develops talent to meet both career and organizational goals
Displays an understanding of the business, competitive landscape, market and customer to inform a strategic plan, challenge assumptions, and identify creative solutions to business issues
Maintains a global view and strategic mindset to inform possibilities and risks of the long termpipeline

Responsible for ensuring all primary research is conducted in accordance with internal AZ compliance policies and best practices, with preferred vendors
Essential for the role
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in science or commercial related program
• Good business acumen, critical thinking and understanding of sales and marketing business practices
• Good financial modeling and forecasting skills
• Proven track record to lead teams through competing business priorities/deadlines
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or consumer industries
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong interpersonal, inclusive leadership and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working in a matrix environment
• Demonstrates self-awareness and willingness to learn through stretch opportunities as well as adapts to coaching, actively pursing growth in development areas
