Introduction to role:
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector? As a Healthcare System Engagement Manager at AstraZeneca, you'll play a pivotal role in executing our engagement strategy with public and private hospitals, local health units, and other key healthcare institutions. Your mission will be to ensure the effective implementation of strategic initiatives that highlight core projects and foster service provider-level engagement. This role is all about building and maintaining strategic relationships with hospital and local health units’ leadership teams, aligning business needs, and co-developing projects that support AstraZeneca's strategic pillars while driving meaningful improvements in the healthcare system.

Accountabilities:
1. Healthcare System Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with hospital and local health units’ leadership teams (C-level and D-level) ensuring ecosystem needs alignment.

  • Develop comprehensive stakeholder mapping and engagement plans for key healthcare institutions.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for strategic healthcare system partnerships.

  • Ensure consistent and professional representation of AstraZeneca values and objectives.

2. Strategic Project Implementation

  • Co-develop and implement projects aligned with AZ's strategic pillars (e.g., care integration, disease management).

  • Coordinate project delivery across multiple healthcare institutions.

  • Ensure effective coordination with internal teams to facilitate project delivery and remove implementation barriers.

  • Provide strategic facilitation and stakeholder alignment to optimize project outcomes through internal collaboration.

3. Opportunity Identification & Development

  • Identify local needs and opportunities for collaboration, adapting AZ's offerings to the realities of each institution.

  • Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies for potential partnerships.

  • Develop tailored proposals and solutions that address specific institutional challenges.

  • Scout emerging trends and opportunities in the healthcare system landscape.

4. Cross-functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal teams (Therapeutic Area Teams) to ensure delivery of tailored solutions.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination across institutions.

  • Ensure alignment between local initiatives and corporate strategy.

  • Support the integration of different therapeutic areas and business functions.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project impact and scalability across engaged institutions.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators for engagement activities.

  • Provide regular reports on partnership outcomes and strategic impact.

  • Identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.

6. Strategic Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the Corporate Health System Strategy Manager to harmonize approaches and share insights.

  • Promote a unified external engagement strategy for enhanced health system impact.

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to corporate strategy development.

  • Support the development of best practices and standardized approaches.

7. Compliance

  • Guarantee that all activities related to the job comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and code of conduct).

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field

  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare system, healthcare system engagement, partnership management, or similar role

  • Proven experience in managing strategic projects within healthcare institutions

  • Deep understanding of healthcare system operations and institutional dynamics

  • Excellent collaboration capacity with internal and external ecosystems

  • Outstanding relationship management and communication skills

  • Excellent ability to summarise complex information into excellent presentations

  • Excellence in analytical skills

  • Project management skills and experience with complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives

  • Excellent level of spoken and written English (level C1)

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management, or MBA

  • Experience in Healthcare System  

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare technology industry 

  • Knowledge of digital health technologies and healthcare innovation 

  • Experience in healthcare system transformation initiatives 

  • Understanding of healthcare policy and regulatory environment 

  • Familiarity with value-based and/or risk sharing models 

  • Experience in working with or in public healthcare institutions
