Medical Affairs Lead for Rare Diseases (New Position)

As a Medical Therapeutic Area Lead under our Medical Team, you will be a supervisor of a group of Medical Science Liaisons and Therapeutic Area Medical Partners. Works with therapeutic brand leaders to develop national strategies for healthcare thought leaders. Responsible for coordinating Medical Liaison activities with the sales group.

  • Leads team of Medical Science Liaisons and Therapeutic Area Medical Partners

  • Develop and drive innovative collaboration with internal and external partners.

  • Building Medical Science Liaisons' capabilities and ensuring they deliver excellent results.

  • Serves as a member of the assigned Therapeutic Area Core Team and leads initiatives that impact national strategies for a specific therapeutic area.

  • Serves as a member of the Extended Leadership Team and leads initiatives that impact a specific Therapeutic Area and cross-Therapeutic Areas

  • Works with sales leaders to coordinate Medical Liaison activities and optimize the use of resources.

  • Integrates scientific and medical knowledge from key opinion leaders, brand teams, and literature to identify and forecast trends that might impact AZ's business across brands.

Essential:

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or equivalent

  • 6 – 8 years’ experience as a Medical Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong leadership capabilities

Desirable:

  • Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or equivalent.

  • Established track record of basic or clinical research.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the Medical Education process.
