ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose:

As a Medical Advisor, you will provide external and internal medical leadership within priority therapeutic area. The Medical Advisor develops strong relationships with key external experts (KEEs), delivers high-quality scientific exchange, and supports evidence generation. Internally, the role contributes to brand strategy, life-cycle management, medical education, and cross-functional training while ensuring full compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain engagement with KEEs through field visits, scientific exchange, advisory boards, and investigator-initiated research discussions.
  • Provide expert medical input to brand strategy, life-cycle management, and launch readiness plans.
  • Develop and execute the local medical plan and pre-launch activities for new products.
  • Deliver medical education to healthcare professionals and train internal cross-functional teams.
  • Support clinical studies and evidence-generation programs (e.g., ESRs, non-interventional studies, registries).
  • Act as a scientific resource for internal stakeholders, providing insights on clinical practice, trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • Serve as nominated signatory for promotional and medical materials as required.
  • Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca policies, local regulations, and global governance standards.

Job Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Pharmacist.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role in Medical Affairs, within a multinational pharmaceutical company.
  • Experience in specialty lines (e.g., Oncology, Hematology, Rare Disease, Metabolic Diseases).
  • Proven stakeholder-management track record with KOLs, HCPs, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement and relationship management with HCPs and KOLs.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent scientific knowledge, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as business needs require.
  • Experience working directly with a brand-owning company (not solely through a distributor) or, if working with a distributor, clear evidence of close collaboration with the parent/mother company.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Post-graduate degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) in a relevant scientific or medical discipline.
  • Experience in account management.
